  7. Question Why does it not cause a crossbite?

  8. Answer You will notice that this appliance causes much less disturbance to the buccal segments than the twin block. It has to be quite a big overjet to cause a crossbite. You also get less post treatment posture

  11. You don’t need to use buttons. In fact it is an opportunity to use up old stock. Or you could try to use tubes and brackets placed in the correct position which I have done here the problem is bonding the lower tube. If you stick it too high it is difficult to place the elastics. Full time wear except for cleaning

  13. Molar correction should be complete in less than 6 months

  14. At bond up note cement on 6s just to prevent bracket loss. It would have been possible to use short class II elastics to maintain the buccal segments.

  16. Answer It is caused by crowding in the lower or spacing in the upper. If you want you can make another splint for the upper with the bead on the mesio-palatal cusp

  19. Answer Fit an expansion screw labial bow appliance. Turn the mid-line screw one turn for every 1mm of overjet reduction.

  25. Answer If loose deciduous teeth move the appliance will not fit. When the appliance is being worn loose deciduous teeth are not a problem

  27. Why not make your own plastic buttons on upper 2/2 etch the teeth and put a separator on the surface. Then fill with flowable composite

  28. Question If you use separators to make a button how can you make it easier to remove the rubber after curing the light cure?

  29. Answer Cut the module first it still makes a nice button and is easier to remove.
