  2. Theme Passage Eph 1 3 Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

  3. 1) Live it Out: A Family Connection- Eph 1:4-6 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

  4. 1) Live it Out: A Family Connection- Eph 1:4-6 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

  5. 1) Live it Out: A Family Connection- Eph 1:4-6 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

  6. Three great words describe our family connection with God-- chosen, adopted, accepted.

  7. John 14 23 Jesus answered & said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; & My Father will love him, & We will come to him & make Our home with him.

  8. “The Bible is full of family imagery—Father, Son, daughters, home, house….it is the way that God reveals how His world works. God does not give us a new religion, but a new family.”

  9. 1) Live it Out: A Family Connection- Eph 1:4-6 Am I living out my family connection with God and His people or am I trying to go it alone and be self-sufficient?

  10. 2) Live it Out: Forgiveness of Sins- Eph 1:7 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,

  11. Forgiveness is God’s way of wiping away the evil we have done against Him and others… Psa 103 8 The Lord is merciful & gracious, Slow to anger, & abounding in mercy…

  12. Forgiveness is God’s way of wiping away the evil we have done against Him and others… Psa 103 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

  13. Forgiveness is God’s way of wiping away the evil we have done against Him and others… Psa 103 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him

  14. …& expects us to give that forgiveness away Matt 6 14 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

  15. …& expects us to give that forgiveness away Matt 6 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

  16. 2) Live it Out: Forgiveness of Sins- Eph 1:7 Am I practicing forgiveness as part of living out my faith?

  17. 3) Live it Out: Experiencing Great Grace- Eph 1:7-8 7 … according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom & prudence,

  18. Grace is God’s favor, His inclination to be generous with us. God thought it both wise and prudent, a sensible thing to do, to be open-handed with us and give us His favor.

  19. II Cor 8 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

  20. 3) Live it Out: Experiencing Great Grace- Eph 1:7-8 Am I living in God’s grace or do I still feel like I am living in spiritual poverty?

  21. 4) Live it Out: Knowledge of God- Eph 1:9 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

  22. God desires for us to know Him, to have confidence in who He is. While God is mysterious, He is not a complete mystery to us.

  23. I Cor 2 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

  24. I Cor 2 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God

  25. 4) Live it Out: Knowledge of God- Eph 1:9 Do I pursue knowing God so I can live in relationship with Him?
