Need for Equality Training in the NWHB • Changing needs of population • Changing needs of staff • Requests from Staff/ Clients/ Unions • Equality Legislation/ Government policy • Need for improvement of Service/ Employment practice
NWHB Equality and Diversity Management training • 4 day training course • Managing Equality and Diversity • Ethnic Diversity and Anti-Racism • Training in Traveller Culture • Disability Awareness • Service managers/ Line managers • Certification on only completion of all training days
Cont. • Training delivered by internal/ external tutors • 2 training cohorts per annum • Identify action/ issue which needs to be changed/ addressed • Evaluate in 6 months/ One year
Aim of the training To increase the capacity of staff to manage diversity and equality in employment and in the planning and provision of services and contribute to tackling health inequalities through enhanced information, understanding and knowledge.
