Historical Events • US launches attack on Chemical plant Al-Shifa to assumed to have made chemical weapons • This was called Operation Infinite Reach • This happened on August 20,1998 • This was retaliation from the bombings of two American Embassies • This killed 224 people and injured 5,000 people • Most countries became angry with the United States • The US used around 10 warships and 5 submarines The Al-Shifa plant after attacks

Historical Events Cont. • South Sudan became their own country • This happened from 9 to 15 January 2011 • A campaign was started about this topic • 3,792,518 votes were that voted if Sudan should separate • All of Sudan’s oil is south, the Abyei is in the south, and South Kurdufan and Blue Nile South Sudan

  4. Historical Events Cont. • Muhammad Ahmad becomes Mahdi of Sudan • On June 29, 1881 proclaimed he was the “expected one” • He did this to prepare the second Prophet Isa (Jesus) Muhammad Ahmad
