  4. Polarised NC and CC at HERA II <Pe >= 0.33 <Pe> = -0.40 CC CC left handed e+ right handed e+ NC HERA II e+p L = 55 pb-1 (HV on) Longitudinal polarisation Pe~ 40% (both positive and negative) NC V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  5. Polarised e+pCC cross sections at HERA II Polarisation dependence is firmly established Linear fit s = a+b(1+Pe) consistent with - linear (1+Pe) dependence - intercept of 0 V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  6. General Search for Deviations from SM at high PT consider all final states with isolated e,m,j,g,n (PT >20 GeV, 10o<J< 140o) HERA I 117 pb-1 HERA II 45 pb-1 • impressive overall agreement with the Standard Model predictions V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  7. Isolated leptons with PTmiss at HERA II e,m,t V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  8. Isolated leptons with PTmiss at HERA II e,m,t V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  9. Isolated t events with missing PT Elastic t-pair production ->demonstration of the detection ability Isolated t and missing PT V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  10. Rp viol. SUSY: Search for Bosonic Stop Decays Possible “explanations” of isolated leptons excess - anomalous single top production (published) - Rp violating SUSY: excess in jmPTmiss is not supported by other channels -> limits V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  11. Multi-leptons at HERA I+II (163 pb-1) Multi-leptons withGPT > 100 GeV HERA II 2 central leptons 20o< J < 150o,PT l1,l2>10,5 GeV 2 or 3 leptons in the finale state e m m data: 4 events SM: 0.61+-0.11 V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  12. Search for Doubly Charged Higgs Possible interpretation of multi-lepton events tt -> em,ej,mj,jj only one event survives in ee analysis V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  13. Search for Lepton Flavour Violation eq->mq,tq LQ->mq LQ->tq V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  14. Beauty in DIS (and gp) from b->mX Q2 > 2 GeV2 Make use of the H1 silicon tracker: simultaneous fit to ptrel and d Data/NLO summary prel. prel. NLO is consistent both with DIS and gp data although systematically somewhat higher V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  15. Inclusive Lifetime Tagging Use all tracks with pt>500 MeV and hits in the silicon tracker -> jet (or HFS) gives b-direction Significance distributions S2 (and S1) secondary vertex Subtract negative S2 from positive S2 primary vertex S1 significance S=d/s(d) (d=DCA in r-f plane) b,c from fit of “subtracted” S1,S2 with b,c,uds shapes given by MC V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  16. Beauty in gp using lifetime tagging Q2 ~ 0 dijets with ptjet > 11 (7) GeV and -0.88< hjet <1.3 • Data are slightly above NLO, similar to b->mX results • The difference tends to be larger for xgobs< 0.85 (resolved) • Similar conclusions for Cascade (CCFM) V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  17. F2bb, F2cc at high Q2 using lifetime tagging x bins for Q2=200, 650 GeV2 ensure that jets/tracks are within acceptance of the silicon tracker (extrapolation below 3%) c contribution ~30% b contribution ~3% for Q2 >150 GeV2, 0.1<y<07 • First measurement of F2bb • consistent with NLO V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  18. Diffractive Final States and NLO QCD (tests of QCD factorisation in diffraction) diffractive NLO PDFs from F2Ddata->predictions for final states • Diffractive D* in DIS • Diffractive dijets (DIS, gp) • Diffractive CC V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  19. Diffractive D* in DIS cross section for 2<Q2 <100 GeV2, 0.05<y<0.7, xIP<0.04, MY<1.6 GeV, |t|<1GeV2, pT(D*)>2 GeV, |h (D*)|<1.5 NLO agrees with data indicating validity of the hard scattering factorisation theorem agreement of H1 and ZEUS data (corrected for difference in phase space) V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  20. Comparison with 2-gluon approach (xIP<0.01) Perturbative 2-gluon approach: use of un-integrated gluon density obtained from CCFM evolution to the inclusive F2 data Good agreementwith data in all distributions V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  21. NLO QCD for Diffractive Dijets in DIS and gp gp DIS Common phase space for DIS and gp 165<W<242GeV, Et*jet>5(4)GeV, -1<h<2 xIP<0.04, MY<1.6GeV, |t|<1GeV2 NLO is corrected for hadronisation NLO is about 2 times higher gp data -> breaking of factorisation in gp for dijets in ppar: ~7 times higher NLO agrees with diffr. DIS data supporting QCD factorisation V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  22. “Rapidity Gap Survival Probability” in gp NLO multiplied by a factor of 0.5 -> good agreement with gp data Data/NLO: DIS &gp suppression by 0.34 for resolved (Kaidalov et al) is not sufficient Double ratio -> no y (energy) dependence V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  23. Diffractive e+p CC cross section 14 diffractive CC events (Q2 >200 GeV2, y<0.9, xIP<0.05) -> differential distributions in Q2, xIP and b -> good agreement with H1 DPDF fit assuming flavour democracy V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004

  24. Summary Many new results for ICHEP2004: - analysis of HERA I data is still going on, although in some areas the data now are essentially exploited - the first physics results from HERA II polarised CC, new interesting events at high PT,… - many completely original and new topics double signitures, new techniques, … Many thanks to HERA machine group and all H1 colleagues who worked hard to get these results out V. Chekelian, H1 Highlights 2004
