Marjory Stoneman Douglas • Marjory was a columnist and a conservationist. • She worked at Miami Herald and had her own column called “The gallery.” • She later quit that job to write short stories about the environment and won awards due to this. • She became an activist and a writer. • She wrote a book called “The Everglade: River of Grass” which gave people a better perspective of the land of Florida. She talked about how the fresh flowing water is essential for both people and wildlife • She also wrote more books about the everglades and how we should protect it.
