CREATE: Objective 2 • Develop partnerships with Colleges and Universities. • Articulate Bachelor’s level transfer programs with all CREATE degree programs. • Make BS programs accessible to CREATE program graduates.
Goal: B.S. Information Technology • Compatible with CC A.S. degrees • Meet IT accreditation criteria • Follow national IT program guidelines
BSIT – Motivation • Information Technology: remains hot! • IT Professionals need a blend of skills: Networks Web Technology Databases Computer Programming Project Management Writing/Communications
Lower Division Requirements (CC) • Statistics • One semester lab science (in GE). • First course in programming (C, C++, Java). • First course in Comp Arch and Assembly Lang. • CSU GE certification. • A minimum of 15 units lower div tech. courses.
Upper Division Requirements (CSUCI) • IT Core Courses 24 units • Upper Division GE 9 units • IT Elective Courses 15 units • Mathematics/Science Courses 7 units • Capstone 5 units Total 60 units
Recommended Upper Division Interdisciplinary GE Courses: • Engl 330 Writing in Your Discipline • Comp 447 Societal Issues in Computing • Comp 449 Human-Computer Interaction
Current Status (Spring 2006) • 13 students full time. • 5 additional students were accepted, but are taking CC classes • 5 incomplete applications in fall 2005
