In short, the sites hosted on the same web server will share a common IP address and will share server resources as well as web server space. Server customization is not possible on a Shared Server, as multiple sites are hosted on a single web server. • Benefit- Shared Servers offer the most economical web hosting solution, due to the shared server environment. • Disadvantages - Issues are encountered with regard to site speed, site performance and site security, owing to the sharing of server resources and server space among multiple websites.
