  10. NAPOLI, 2008… Un gruppo di ricercatori italiani scopre un nuovo meccanismo per “ri-programmare” le cellule adulte e renderle simili alle staminali.

  11. Alla base della complessa ricerca è laproteina Wnt, nota per essere coinvolta in numerose fasi dello sviluppo di animali vertebrati e invertebrati. I ricercatori hanno preso in considerazione diversi tipi di cellule adulte e le hanno fuse con staminali embrionali in presenza della proteina Wnt. Successivamente le cellule adulte hanno perso le loro caratteristiche tipiche e ne hanno invece acquisite altre, simili a quelle delle staminali.
