  3. Is modern Mexican gov’t authoritarian or democratic? • Is the economy centrally controlled or does it operate under free market principles?

Include their full names, what groups of people tend to support the party, what is included in their platform, what their political beliefs are, and how their role or participation in the government has changed over time.

  8. Does Mexico confirm the theory that economic growth and a market economy lead to democracy? • How does it compare to the developments of a greater economic growth but little democracy in China?

  9. Compare how protests affect the government and politics in Mexico and China. Use at least 1 specific example from each country in your comparison.

  10. (a) Describe three specific problems that Mexico has had since 1982. • (b) For each economic problem you identified in (a), describe a policy reaction that the government has had to the problem.
