  3. WHAT IS AMMONIUM DICHROMATE?

  4. (NH4)2Cr2O7 A salt that forms orange, monoclinic crystals; made from ammonium sulfate and sodium dichromate; soluble in water and alcohol; ignites readily; used in photography, lithography, pyrotechnics, and dyeing. Also known as ammonium bichromate.

  5. AmmoniumDichromateProperties: • Formula: (NH4)2Cr2O7 • MolecularWeight: 252.07 g/mol • MeltingPoint: 1800C • BoilingPoint:Decomposes • State at RoomTemperature:Solid

  6. MolecularorIonic: Molecular • MolecularGeometry: Tetrahedral • Discription:OrangeCrystals

  7. Uses:OilPurification, Pickling, LeatherTanning, Photography, WoodPreservative, Catalysts • InterestingFacts: Used in highschoolchemistrylabstomake "volcanos"

  8. Hazards: • Acute Health Effects:

  9. Chronic Health Effects:

  10. Cancer Hazard:

  11. Application in Daily Life • Pyrotechnics

  12. Photography

  13. Lithography

  14. Dyeingpigments

  15. Manufacturing of alizarin

  16. Leathertanning

  17. Oilpurification

  18. Experiment • Research Question: What will be the result if ammonium dichromate reacts with oxygen?

  19. Hypothesis: • In my opinion, in the experiment the ammonium dichromate will decomposes and it will be a combustion reaction and as a result of it, there will be some green or grey dust particles.

  20. List of Equipment: • Metal Container • 10g Ammonium Dichromate • Bunsen Burner
