2. Introduction An Authentic human existence worthy of the person, can be reached only when one strives to live a moral life in imitation of Jesus. This entails a development of all of the persons faculties- being intelligent, free, and, consequently, responsible for his actions. It is with this end in mind that we study the conditions for true human and moral actions.
3. 1. Importance of the moral life Right moral conduct perfects the human being, and wrong moral conduct degrades him. If morality affects us deeply, then it follows that the study of ethics is of significant importance to the human being, going all the way back to the Greek philosophers. Socrates wrote that the science of good and evil is the most important of all the forms of knowledge, since it places us on the road to true happiness. Plato also wrote but sill I should like to examine further, for no light matter here is at stake, nothing less than the rule of human life.
