AHJS Sports • Volleyball- starts first day of school, schedule on web site, ends first week of November • Basketball- tryouts are the week of Nov. 12th, games begin first week in Dec. and continue until end of Feb. • Tennis- parent meeting in Nov. , Nicole Osborne, season is Jan.-March. • Track- tryout by event starting in March, goes through April.

  5. Eligibility • First 6 weeks & 9 week report card, grade check. • Report card vs. progress report. • What is passing. • Waiver for advanced classes (HS credit)

  6. New Uniforms • All girls will be wearing PE/Athletic uniform M-Th each week. Fridays will be any AH shirt. • Jewelry/ear piercing issue.

  7. Athletic Paperwork • Physical • Doctor page is good for 2 years. New parent side each year is needed. • Athletic Guidelines • Commitment form (updated by Board Aug. 30th ) • AHISD Athletic Standards for Student Athletes

  8. During the period • Off Season • Consist of… • Dress for weather & bring water bottle • Absent make ups • Work out schedules will be posted • White Team- • 7th period for BB. • Practice during the period + 1 to 2 times a week • B/G continue practice.

  9. Parent Volunteers Needed • B/G/W Team parent for pre-game snacks. • B/G/W Team parent to be in charge of organizing concession stand workers. • B/G/W Team special event planner. Each sport and grade level will need at least one parent at each job. • Please volunteer to help when you are contacted by these parents.

  10. Communication Request When problems or questions arise: • Always encourage your daughter to talk with her coach first. • Contact the appropriate coach in the following manner: • Email and request a face to face meeting if necessary. • As soon as possible, but not face to face after a game. • When you are not upset or angry, allow time to not be emotional. • If you still have concerns and would like to speak with someone else contact Coach Boyer. mboyer@ahisd.net

  11. Athlete’s Responsibility • Follow team policies and request from all coaches. • Ride the bus with the team. • Be present physically and mentally at all practice. • If your not 5 min. early your late.  • Always get picked up after practice and games from the back of the school by the gyms. • Communicate with Coaches about outside of school activities that might conflict with practice or games. (bring us your schedule) • Represent your school, coach and family in a positive manner at all times.

  12. Volleyball Tryouts • Schedule: • 7th grade- Monday – 3:30 to 5pm • Tuesday- Friday- 6:45am • 8th grade- Monday- Thursday 3:30 to 5pm. • Off Friday due to holiday weekend. • Tryout document on web site • Meal $ will be collected after team selection is complete. $50 will cover entire season (approximately $3 a kid per game) • Big/Lil’ sis- (max expenditure is $3 a week)
