  4. CIITS Features & Benefits • Kentucky academic standards and deconstructed standards searchable by subject and grade • More than 1,500 high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials from KET Encyclomedia, Discovery Education and SAS Curriculum Pathways As of August 2011

New Features • Unique logins provide access to student data and class roster information • Ability to plan, create and schedule lessons using the characteristics of highly effective teaching and learning; ability to track standards coverage • More than 11,000 assessment items aligned to standards • Support a classroom formative assessment process/create and administer classroom assessments aligned to standards • Easily analyze assessment results to inform next steps for teaching and learning– assessment FOR learning • Flexibly group students electronically for differentiated teaching and learning • MAP benchmark assessment results to track student progress

Only personnel with email address in IC will be able to access CIITS CIITS Training • Log in to CIITS a day prior to your session to be somewhat familiar with the site. • At the CIITS site complete the Tech Check on your computer.  It is one of the links in the bottom left corner of the screen. • If you prefer, download the User Guide / Training Manual that will be used with the specific training you will be attending. • Listen to the “Using CIITS to Support Assessment Literate Classroom Practices”.  This is a recorded webinar at the link provided below. • At any time, if you have CIITS questions, email them to ciitshelp@schoolnet.com

MAP Data • Directly from NWEA to SchoolNet, if district signed agreement • No current connection of MAP results to state assessment (K-PREP) • Cut points determined by percentiles • High 67-100 • Average 34-66 • Low 0-33 • College/Career Ready Report from NWEA shows mapping to EXPLORE, PLAN & ACT around the 70th percentile.

  14. Program Reviews • Required to be completed in Arts/Humanities, Practical Living/Career Studies and Writing in 2011-2012 academic year. • Data reported in ASSIST. • Public reporting for the state in 2011-2012, enters accountability in 2012-2013.

  15. Program Reviews • Schools and Districts will receive access codes to ASSIST on February 6. • ASSIST webinar on February 7. Recording of webinar will be placed on AdvancEd-KY link on Program Review webpage. • Deadline for school submissions June 1, 2012. • District should complete some kind of review of their schools’ review before June 1 submission.

  22. Calculation Process Individual student data collected from the assessments and rates (readiness and graduation) are used to generate a numeric value for each category. The value of each category is weighted to create a final overall score for Next-Generation Learners.

Changes for Inclusion of Special Populations Regulation • Wording Changes • Remove all references to writing portfolios • Replace Limited English Proficient (LEP) with English Learner (EL) • New Organization of the Regulation • Separate students with 504 Plans and PSPs from students with disabilities • Give students participating in Alternate Assessment their own section • Place accommodations for students in different populations in appropriate section

  35. Accommodations for 2012-2013 Assessments (Approved by Kentucky Board of Education, February 2012) Note: ASVAB, KYOTE, WorkKeys are available to schools/districts. Testing staff should follow guidelines from test vendor. KOSSA - A student is allowed to use any accommodation permitted on his or her IEP .
