Well Woman Initiative Overview • The American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ACOG) launched the Women’s Preventive Service Initiative which recommends that women receive at least one preventive care visit per year beginning in adolescence and continuing across the lifespan. • Increasing the rates of reproductive age women who receive at least one annual well woman preventive visit is a state priority. • In 2017, 80.3% of Delaware women ages 18-44 had received a routine check-up within the last year (BRFSS) • The Benefit of Well Woman Care • Increase the number of women who have a preventive health visit to optimize the health of women before, between and beyond pregnancies • Decrease the number of reproductive age women with an unintended pregnancy
