Answer Part A • People can’t get off work • Most polling places aren’t equipped for large amounts of people
Part A Continued • Explain: Election day is takes place while people are working. Many people cannot get off of work and they end up not voting. It is very difficult to get off work and go vote in some cases. • The other case is that places aren’t well equipped for large amounts of people. Some places don’t have enough voting machines or the facilities are too small and cannot hold many people.
Part B Answer • Only one president • Media hypes up Presidential Election • Explain: When we select a president, there is only one president being elected. The president is an international representative for the entire country. When we elect members of congress, there are 438 members of congress representing the country. We only have one president who is chosen by all to serve all.
Part B Continued • The media plays a huge roll in electing the president. When you watch television, you see a lot of campaign messages from presidential candidates. You don’t see messages coming from people running for congress. The presidential election is much more popular and there is a lot more money involved in advertising for these candidates. The people are more informed of the presidential election. That’s why voter turnout is higher for the presidential election.
