Wikis Overview • A wiki is used to collaboratively develop a website without web programming knowledge. Any member of the wiki community can add and edit work on the wiki. • The wiki is constantly changing, and it allows for ongoing development and communication between the members of the community. Wikis are a fast and easy way to develop a website with others.
Wikis Overview cont. • Wikis can be expanded to other pages by creating links. This allows for organization as well as further information for those involved in the wiki community. • Wiki actually means "quick" in Hawaiian!
Features/ Functions • used for collaborative website building • group project planning • focus on community collaboration • encourages the free exchange of ideas • creating and editing text • links to other websites • easy access for all! (even parents)
