  8. Your Trip – Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Hohhot is the capital city of The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of northern China and is the gateway to one of the last of the world’s truly wild frontiers.

  9. Year 10 – Programme Objectives Inner Mongolia is the widest province in China and one of the most sparsely populated. Due to the fascinating terrain and strong cultural identities of the population, Inner Mongolia is one of our most eye opening programmes. Activity Highlights Outcomes • Art School Exchange • Grassland Trek • Camping in Yurts • Traditional Archery • Community Service • Independence • Responsibility • Leadership

  10. Grassland Hiking These vast grasslands have long been the symbol of Inner Mongolia and are an essential component to the regions cultural identity.

  11. Yurt Camping Yurts are portable tent like structures used by the nomads of Central Asia. Two nights camping in these traditional structures is a great cultural experience for students.

  12. Windmill Workshop Inner Mongolia is home to some of the largest wind energy farms in the world. This workshop gives students an educational insight into the inner workings of these wind-powered structures.

  13. Camel Riding Camels are an integral part of Inner Mongolia’s Desert culture, Students will ride camels and sand slide down the dunes.

  14. Lama Interaction Session Inner Mongolia’s dominant religion is a form of Tibetan Buddhism also practiced by the Han Chinese. The students will be able to interview the local Lamas at the Lamasery.

  15. Your Trip – Overview This service focused, cultural immersion programme is designed to get the most out of students’ time away from school. With a busy, activity filled schedule, all participants will gain a new found understanding of community responsibility, independence and cultural diversity.
