What is Learning Support? Learning support is defined as any activity beyond a college program's prescribed content that contributes to individual students' attendance, retention, learning, and achievement. Green, M. and L. What is a Learning Center? National College Learning Center Association defines alearning center as a place where students can be taught to become more efficient and effective learners. Learning Center services may include tutoring, mentoring, supplemental instruction, academic and skill-building labs, computer aided instruction, success seminars/programs, advising and more.

The Human Factor What Students Say: I have been extremely happy with the learning support lab here at the Homestead Campus. The individual attention and encouragement is great. The tutors are helpful and make you feel comfortable to be honest about your level in the subject you are working with which allows you to have true progression. The tutors are very helpful and kind. I feel I can come to the lab and get the help I need. I know I will leave feeling confident about my work. I have had a lot of trouble getting into my WebCT and my math lab sites. It seems that I am not the only one. If not for the support group I would still be trying to enter those sites. I am taking a basic computer class, but I have learned more with the lab and help here. I have gone so far. You can ask Dr. Rivers of what I have done. More than I hope for.
