Performance Verification • Current Superpave specs require the DSR for high temp PG grading • Some crumb rubber modified binders have residual particles that may influence DSR measurements • the DSR can be used with some modifications but there are some more advanced tests which are being utilized in an effort to better assess the potential for performance evaluation of ANY mix including AR.
Because of the high film thickness and the fact that the mastic is comprised of asphalt and rubber • Sampling Technique is Critical
The material that sticks to the sampling tools and containers can critically affect test results. • CORES may be an alternative. 9.5 mm ARGG 18% 9.5 mm wearing 9% 9.5 mm SMA 11%
