A Couple Of Fresh Horror Novels To Sink Your Teeth Into
The horror genre continues to go from strength to strength as readers look for genuine frights while in the safety of their own homes. Here are two fresh and new horror novels to sink your teeth into. Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims The title is a clever play on words, but it also alludes to the fact that this is a collection of series and creepy tales told by the residents of a London development. This collection of stories from different characters brings the haunted house genre right up to date, focusing on tech-related horror as well as the more traditional tropes of creepy buildings and equally creepy kids. The setting is the penthouse of the rich owner of the building and a lavish dinner party that features a range of different characters, all with their mysterious tales to tell. It also has a healthy dose of all-out gore and violence and although it is gruesome in parts, you won’t be able to look away as the book hurtles towards a terrifying conclusion.
Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark This supernatural novel combines the real-life horror of the Ku Klux Klan and demonic monsters in a rip-roaring horror adventure. The premise is that as well as the human members of the racists hate group, the Ku Klux Klan also contains members who are monsters in the form of demonic carnivores. These are known as the Ku Kluxes and together with their human counterparts, they are planning a devastating attacks. Charged with stopping them are three black heroines, each with their own particular set of skills which they will need to bring to bear to stop this demon army. A scary supernatural tale with blood, gore and eerie spiritual happenings, Ring Shout will have you gripped. Find more gripping supernatural tales with the horror books from www.hurrow.com.
