GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #4 BEING CLEAN & STRONG A. Clean - Purity, righteous living. 1. Christ died for this (Eph. 5:26-27)! 2. Necessary for our influence (Phil. 2:14-15). 3. Necessary for our salvation (1 John 3:1-8). B. Strong - Stand solid, keep word. I. WHAT IS CLEAN & STRONG? 1. Keep word (Rev. 3:8). 2. Not tolerant of evil (Eph. 6:10-11). 3. Active (Matt. 25:14-30). C. Antonyms: 1. Dirty, Decayed, Corrupt, Compromising 2. Weak, Soft, Wishy-washy
GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #4 BEING CLEAN & STRONG A. Apathy (Rev. 2:4; 3:14-19). B. Tolerance of error (Rev. 2:14-16; 2:20-23). C. Ignorance (Matt. 22:29). D. Division (1 Cor. 1:10-13). II. WHAT MAKES A CHURCH CORRUPT & WEAK? III. HOW REACH OUR GOAL? A. Teach the Truth (2 Tim. 4:1-5). 1. Provides opportunity (Titus 1:13). 2. Make it uncomfortable to continue in sin (1 John 2:19,21-23).
GOALS FOR EVERY CONGREGATION #4 BEING CLEAN & STRONG III. HOW REACH OUR GOAL? B. Personal Dedication Of Members 1. All of us (Rev. 3:1, 4; 2 Cor. 5:9). 2. Truly love God (1 John 4:10; 18-19). 3. If your love isn’t strong enough, then start by fearing Him (Prov. 1:7; 15:33; 16:6). C. Guard Our Fellowship 1. No fellowship with darkness (Eph. 5:11). 2. Discipline Disorderly (2 Thess. 3:6-15; 1 Cor. 5:1-13). 3. Causes others to fear (Acts 5:11, 13-14).
