When you want to eat something light and nutritious khichdi always come in mind. Each home has its own variation to khichdi right from the variety of dals and each of them is delicious. Toor dal khichidi is popular in Uttar Pradesh areas. It is served with pickle and plain yogurt. Preparation Time: 20 minutes Ingredients: Rice, ToorDal ( Lentils), Salt and turmeric powder. Price: €2 (serves 2) Step 1: Soak ½ cup rice and ½ cup toordal in water for 5 minutes. Step 2: Wash the soaked dal and rice under water and then put it in a pressure cooker. Step 3: Add 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon salt and ½ tablespoon turmeric powder and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Step 4: When the pressure starts steaming in 5-6 minutues, turn the heat down and let it cook for 3-4 minutes. (Different pressure cookers may take different times. Step 5: Khichdi is ready. Serve hot with pickle of your choice.
