Office of Laboratory Services' Mission Dedicated to the promotion and protection of West Virginia's public health by supporting state and local infectious disease control efforts through diagnostic testing, preventing metabolic disorders detectable at birth, and assuring the quality of testing in clinical and environmental laboratories.

Diagnostic Immunology : Adult Hepatitis B Immunization Project • Currently only 2 facilities are involved in this project. • Tygart Valley Regional Jail • Southern Regional Jail OLS performs Hepatitis B and C testing.

Diagnostic Immunology Chlamydia/Gonorrhea Testing This testing has been offered to Prison, Jails and Juvenile Detention Centers. Working with Sites for over 6 years Lab performs Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Testing using a noninvasive urine specimen

Most Common Problems • Specimens held for to long before mailing • Forms filled out incorrectly • Date of collection missing from the submission form • Not packaging specimens according to DOT regulations. ( A fine could be levied against the facility). • Expired Media • Lack of Contact Person
