How do you vote? • Turn on the clicker by pressing the bottom “On/Off” button. A blue “Power” light will appear at the top of the remote.
How do you vote? • When I ask a question (and start the timer), select A, B, C, D, or E as your vote.
How do you know your vote was received? • Check your “Vote Status” Light: • Green light = your vote was sent AND received. • Red flashing light = you need to vote again. • Not sure you saw the light? • Just vote again. • Want to change your vote? • You can vote again as long as the timer is still going.

Registration • Registration may be performed • in class • or online • http://www.iclicker.com/registration/ • Student must know your choice for user id • Instructor must sync roster with online database • Student must use the remote at least once in class before web registration will sync • Timing of registration is insignificant as points are linked to the remote number
Question 1 • A charged non-magnetic particle is moving in a magnetic field. Set-up • Download the software • http://www.wfu.edu/physics/rsr-edu.html • Run iclicker.exe located in the folder • Settings and Preferences • Create One copy of the MyCoursePC folder for each section you teach (rename accordingly) • Modify roster.txt • Prepare lectures if desired • Answers may be specified before, after, or during class • If you would like to specify question titles and answers before class, you will create a questionlist.csv file in your folder • Register Remotes
Notes on Instructor Remote When you designate a remote to be your instructor remote, the keys function in the following manner: • A. Start/Stop Polling • B. Show/Hide Graph • C. Advance Slide • D. Reverse Slide • E. Toggle to indicatecorrect answer

Grades • Grades are tracked using igrader.exe located in the same folder • Registration may be synced here if you choose to allow web registration • Screenshots are taken each time polling occurs • In igrader, you may edit • Student info • Session titles • Session scores • Export options of .csv and html
Potential Issues • Frequency • All base stations use a default frequency of AA • Frequency of a station may be set to any combination of A, B, C, D as a set of 2 characters • AA, AB, AC, AD, BB, BA, BC… • If interference is a problem with adjacent base stations, students must change the frequency of their remote every class • Testing is required
Frequency • Changing Frequency • For Base Station • Change in Settings and Preferences • For Student Remotes: • At the beginning of each class: • Hold On/Off button for 2 seconds (the blue Power Light will flash) • Enter [frequency] • The “Vote Status” light will turn green after you’ve entered this new frequency.
