Climate Change Issues • We are talking about adaption, mitigation ,and monitoring droughts to sand dunes • How does drought cause sand dunes? • How will sand dunes effect us and our lovable community? • Can we stop dunes before they can take our homes and roads?
Adapting to Droughts and Sand Dunes • In the Dilkon region we can adapt to these droughts and dunes. • We can adapt to these problems in the future but will take some time. • We can change these problems by mud balls filled with seeds and kitty litter and use them to stop dunes for quite a long period of time.
Mitigating to Dunes • Mitigating to sand dunes we would need sand sausages and bull dozers. • Preventing over grazing is a big issue because we need soil so it wont become a dune. • Sand sausages will only stop it for a few years then will decompose in the dirt • Bull dozing can help but the dune can be in its previous form between 3-10 weeks.
Monitoring Dunes and Droughts • Monitoring has to be observing the dune and watching out for it so the dune wont cover any roads or destroy any houses. • Droughts are monitored by less vegetation which means less food for our livestock
Questions From the paper Part 1 • We would start by using sand sausages mud balls , and bull dozers to stop dunes for awhile so we can find answers. • Our chapter house and community can help us get involved in organizing a program. • The future program can set up ads, commercials, fliers ,and the voice of the Navajo nation.
Questions • Our program can be helpful to others wanting to keep there house and not move away. • We can find answers if we work together as a community • Our answers can be found from www.Google.com • www.GoogleMaps.com • www.Bing.com
