Establishing Your Library PIN And accessing your library account
Why do I need my pin? • You must establish your PIN in order to: • Access your online library account • Access the GALILEO password • Request books via GIL Express • Your PIN adds an extra layer of security to your online library account. • PIN: Personal Identification Number
First… Go to the Library Homepage at: www.library.gcsu.edu Click on “My Library Accounts”
Second… From the drop-down menu, select the number which you’ll be using: Barcode: found on the back of your Bobcat card or Institution ID: 911 # Enter your last name Select “Get My PIN”
Third… • Check your student email. • A temporary PIN will be sent to your bobcats email address. • If you do not receive an email, check your junk mail.
Fourth… Return to the GIL Account Login page Login as before, this time including your new PIN Select “Login to My Account”
Fifth… Your online GIL account will look like this Once you’re logged in, you can change your PIN
GIL Account Toolbar Takes you to the GIL Universal Catalog Takes you to the GC Library Catalog Takes you to GALILEO Shows you the current GALILEO password
From your GIL account… • You can view all items you have checked out from Georgia College and other libraries in the University System of Georgia (USG). • You can view the due dates of items. • You can view all holds/blocks, fines or fees. • You can renew checked-out items.
From your gil account… • You can monitor the status of your GIL Express requests. • You can request the GALILEO password. • You can access GALILEO.
