Nature vs. Nurture • Nature– Refers to what genetic traits people inherit & how they affect development. • The biological foundation that prepares a person to develop in certain ways. • Nurture – Refers to the effect environmental factors have on development. • Includes family, education, culture, living conditions, etc.
Nature or Nurture? On the piece of paper you are taking notes on number your paper 1-10. You will be given 10 traits. For each trait listed, you will mark G if the trait is acquired through genetic factors, E if it is marked through environmental factors, or GE if it acquired through the interaction of genetics & environment.
