HISTORY OF CINEMA The history of film is the development of the medium known as cinema, motion pictures, film, and the movies. The history of film spans over a hundred years, from the 19th century to the present day. Motion pictures developed gradually from a novelty to one of the most important tools of communication and entertainment . Motion picture films have had a substantial impact on the arts, technology, and politics. Preceding film by thousands of years, plays and dances had elements common with films: scripts , sets, costums, production, dairection, actors, audience, storyboards, and scores. Exercises go ahead
In the 1860s, mechanisms for producing two-dimensional drawings in motion were demonstrated with devices such as the zoetrope, mutoscope and praxinoscope. These machines were outgrowths of simple optical devices (such as magic lanterns) also these machines display sequences of still pictures at sufficient speed for the images on the pictures would appear to be moving. The images needed to be carefully designed to achieve the desired effect, and the underlying principle became the basis for the development of film animation. By the 1880s the development of the motion picture camera allowed the images to be captured and stored on a single reel. This process led to the development of a motion picture projector and which printed film and magnified these "moving picture shows" into a screen for an entire audience . By the early 1920s, most films came, with complete film scores composed for major productions. Since the 1960s there have been changes in the production and style of film. Various New Wave movements were all part of the changes in film in the late 20th century. Digital technology has been the driving force in change throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s. go ahead Exercises

The poetry Poetry as an art form may predate literacy. Many ancient works, from the Indian Vedas (1700-1200 BC) and Zoroaster's Gathas (1200-900 BC) to the Odyssey (800-675 BC), appear to have been composed in poetic form to aid memorization and oral transmission. Poetry appears among the earliest records of most literate cultures, with poetic fragments found on early monoliths, runestones, and stelae. The oldest surviving epic poem is the Epic of Gilgamesh, from the 3rd millennium BC in Sumer (inMesopotamia, now Iraq), which was written in cuneiform script on clay tablets and, later, papyrus. Other ancient epic poetry includes the Greekepics Iliad and Odyssey, the Old Iranianbooks the Gathic Avesta and Yasna, the Roman national epic and Virgil's Aeneid. go ahead Exercises
Context can be critical to poety and to the development of poetic genres and forms. Poetry that records historic events in epics, such as Gilgamesh or Ferdowsi‘s Shahnameh , will be lengthy, while poetry used for liturgical purposes (hymns, psalms, suras, and hadiths) is likely to have inspirational tones, whereas tragedy is meant to evoke deep emotional responses. Other contexts include Gregorian chants, formal or diplomatic speech, political rhetoric and invectivelight-hearted nursery and nonsense rhymes, and even medical texts The Polish historian of aesthetics, Wladyslaw Tatarkiewicz, traces the evolution of what is in fact two concepts of poetry. Poet Paul Valéry observed, "at a certain point find union. Poetry is an art based on language. But poetry also has a more general meaning that is difficult to define because it is less determinate: poetry expresses a certain state of mind." Exercises go ahead
