Indirect Measurement • Indirect measurement is used to find measurements when directly measuring the object is not possible or not probable. • It makes use of similar figures, proportions and properties of right triangles in order to find the unknown heights and/or distances. • By using known information and gathering information, we can find unknown heights and unknown distances.
HistoryThales of Miletus was a Greek Mathematician who used similar triangles as a means of measuring impossible heights and distances.
