Why the Change? • No more flipping through pages and pages of data • Provide summary information at the national, state, industry and facility level at your fingertips. • Allow for better use of data in EPA by providing on-line reports that display pertinent information to EPA decision makers at the click of a button.

Benefits • Allows for more transparent access to the hazardous waste data, which will help facilitate better public involvement and better decision making. • Improves overall data quality • By allowing the facilities and states access to the data to ensure that their data is represented correctly • Query site-specific information based on • RCRA EPA ID • Region • State • Industry • NAICS Codes • Generate On-line Reports • NO MORE PAPER!!!!!

Phases • Phase 1 – Transfer all data from hardcopy report into Web Format • Includes 3 stages of testing - In-house - States (3) and Regions (3) - Industries • Phase 2 – Implement improvements of the website • Ensure correct results of queries • Include small analyses • Include County Data, Handler Modules • Link to Google map and Enviromapper • Phase 3 – Include other analyses • We want to hear from you – the users

  10. What are Web Services? • Standardized way for applications to communicate • Platform independent • Programming language independent

  11. How RCRAInfo Uses Web Services? • Accept data submissions via Exchange Network • Allow users to download load status reports • Communicate with CDX Node • Provide data synchronizing and retrieval functionality
