  3. Objectives • Learn the recommended cleanup of Practice CS, FileCabinet CS, and NetClient CS prior to tax season • Understand what to get ready for tax season • Learn the Organizer process and get all settings in place before tax season begins RootWorks.com

  4. Cleanup of Practice CS • Clean up projects • Audit your open projects and complete/cancel/delete as necessary • Actions > Manage Projects • Clean up clients • Audit your client list and make clients inactive • Setup > Clients • Do this BEFORE your tax projects regenerate at the beginning of January or February! RootWorks.com

  5. Cleanup of FileCabinet CS • Mark clients as Inactive • Individually update drawers: Drawer Properties • Bulk update drawers: Help > Repair > Update Drawer Status • Move Inactive Drawers to another data location/database • Create new data location/database • File > Copy Drawers to inactive location • Delete inactive drawers from active location RootWorks.com

  6. Cleanup of NetClient CS • Delete portals of inactive clients • Delete documents of inactive clients • Admin > Utilities > Cleanup > Document Presentation RootWorks.com

  7. Getting Ready for Tax Season • Proforma • Clients • Documents • Collations • Add Preparers not in UT13 • Verify settings proforma’d • User Preferences • Office Configuration options • Product Settings RootWorks.com

  8. Organizer Process • Set Organizer Delivery to Paper • Setup > Client Communications • Can do in mass under Utilities > Reassign Clients • Print organizers to FileCabinet • Mark to go to NetClient CS • Push organizers to the portals • File > NetClient CS > select Changed and make connect call • Verify everything looks good on the portal • Email clients that their organizer is available RootWorks.com

  9. Organizer Process • Organizers delivered via paper • Keep track in Practice CS • Client Custom Field setup as a checkbox • Print/Preview Client List report filtered by custom field • Use report generated out of Practice CS to print the organizers to paper from UltraTax CS RootWorks.com
