  2. Welcome! • A little about me: • ChristalVitko • From Virginia Beach (military brat ) • East Stroudsburg University ~ Bachelor’s in Mathematics • 9th year teaching • Subjects: Applied Geometry, Honors Geometry, and AP Calculus • This is my 7th year teaching AP Calculus

  3. My Goals • Establish an atmosphere of academic excellence. • Help students attain the skills and knowledge in mathematics that will help them through college and beyond. • Prepare students for AP Calculus exam on May 7, 2013. (They can earn college credit for calculus if they score a 3, 4, or 5.) • Teach students that hard work, dedication, and a love for learning are the perfect recipe for success.

  4. Topics Studied Calculus • Limits and Continuity • Derivatives • Applications of Derivatives • Integrals • Applications of Integrals • Differential Equations

  5. What Each Student Should Have • 3-ring Binder • Graphing Calculator: TI 83, 84, or Nspire. • Review workbooks (such as Princeton Review)

  6. Grading • Homework is worth anywhere from 5-10 points for completion. • Quizzes are generally worth 40-60 points. • Tests are worth 100 points. • Midterm and Final are each worth 10% of the final grade. • Extra Credit opportunities are provided, but not upon request.

  7. If your child needs extra help… • I am available before AND after school each day to help students with content material. • Math Lab is open during every study hall. • Online resources can be very helpful.
