3. BlackBerry Basic Navigation Trackball
Roll the trackball to highlight an item

First I want to cover some basics of navigating with the BlackBerry. (you can ask them if they’ve used their BlackBerry for awhile and skip this if they are avid BlackBery users)

The one exception to the trackball is the Storm. The BlackBerry Storms don’t have a trackball because they have a touchscreen so with the Storm you tap right on the screen to select something.

4. BlackBerry Storm Navigation No Trackball

5. Installing eKEY on BlackBerry Installed from Browser on BlackBerry
Go to www.ekeymobile.com
Select Download Supra eKEY link
If asked to confirm permission changes, press Menu button and Save
6. Authenticating eKEY software Launch eKEY application
Enter 30-digit authorization code (available from Board or MLS)
7. eKEY fob When ready to use, press and hold until blue light blinks
Blue light flashes while searching for bluetooth
Green light flashes while communicating with iBox
Red light displays when eKEY fob batteries are low The eKEY fob is an additional piece of hardware needed to translate the Bluetooth signal from the BlackBerry to an infrared signal that can be understood by the iBox.
When the eKEY software prompts you, turn on the eKEY fob by pressing and holding the power button until the blue light flashes. The blue light flashing means that it’s searching for a Bluetooth connection or communicating via Bluetooth. When the green light flashes it’s ready to interact with the iBox and that’s when you point it at the iBox. There’s also a red light that flashes when the battery in the eKEY fob is low. 9. Pairing BlackBerry and eKEY fob Similar to pairing other Bluetooth device
Only needs to be done once
Automatically tries to pair first time you Obtain Key or Release Shackle

Before you use your BlackBerry and eKEY fob together they need to be paired. This is similar to pairing other Bluetooth devices. It only needs to be done once.

When you first open the eKEY software you’ll see the Home screen. You’ll see the 4 icons.

11. Updating Key updates automatically during night
As long as phone is on and in cell coverage it will update
If phone is off for long period of time, as soon turn it on, eKEY updates
Every 10 minutes communicates to send/receive showing info and messages
Can manually update: Press Menu and select Emergency Update Updating with the eKEY on a BlackBerry is very easy. As long as your phone is on and you’re in cell coverage it will remain updated.
If your phone is turned off, as soon as you turn it on and go into the eKEY software it updates.

If you’re not in cell coverage, you can do a manual update. Obtain an update code from KIMvoice or KIMweb and then from the Home screen in the eKEY software press the Menu button and select Update Key. Updating with the eKEY on a BlackBerry is very easy. You can fill out the information and leave notes about the showing that will be sent to the listing agent. 14. Open Shackle (Important - Have them do this one at a time)
Now I’m going to have each of you open the shackle. We’re using the eKEY fob so again we need to do this one at a time.
Select Open Shackle and enter the shackle code.
Make sure to uncheck Add KeyBox to Inventory. If you’re opening your own keybox you’ll want to leave this checked and that will automatically register your box to you at the KIM website. Since you’re opening a practice box you won’t want it registered to you so uncheck that.
Press the trackball or Enter and power on the eKEY fob when prompted. When the light turns green point the eKEY fob at the iBox.

15. KeyBox Inventory Change KeyBox Settings
Add Listing ID & other listing info
Select Inventory
Select KeyBox
Make changes
Press Menu button
Select Program
If you selected to add the keybox to your inventory, it automatically goes in to the KeyBox Details screen where you can enter the Listing ID if you’re placing the keybox on a listing.
You can also get to this screen anytime by selecting Inventory, then the KeyBox.
You can make any changes to the box here such as customizing the showing hours, entering in your business card, or notes about the showing. If your broker or Board owns the keyboxes make sure you check with them before changing any of the keybox settings.
Press the Menu button and then select Program to save the new settings to the keybox. If you selected to add the keybox to your inventory, it automatically goes in to the KeyBox Details screen where you can enter the Listing ID if you’re placing the keybox on a listing.
