  3. Analyzing a problem • Omi is the co owner of a company called AGICSA. They need a system that will let them manage different assets like cars, computers and so. The company is dedicated to supervise bridges maintenance by other for the government. They have many contracts in different states around Mexico. Currently they do everything by filling some paper forms.

  4. Analyzing a problem • Individually (2 min): Think of 3 questions you would do to Omi that will allow you to know better the situation. • Answer one per student.

  5. Users and client • Individually (2 min): A part from your client, who else should you gather information from? • Respect to AGICSA: • Who is the client and who is the end-user? • What information could an end-user give you?

  6. Data Collection Methods • Individually (2 min). How can you collect information/data about the situation/current system? • Interviews • Questionnaires • Observation • Existing Documentation

  7. Propose a solution • In groups: (3 min) Write down three possible solutions Omi can take. (at least one should be an IT solution)

  8. Feasibility study • The proposed solutions by the client or yourself may or may not be feasible. Hence it is important to determine if a given solution is feasible before one starts dreaming about it. • Individually (5 min): Read the Feasibility Word doc in Laboratorio_Uno\ITGS2\HL\ • Individually (5 min): Determine if one of your solutions is feasible. Ask Omi as many questions as you need to determine this.

  16. Feasibility Study • Individually (2 min): Write down all the elements to check in a feasibility study. • In pairs (1 min): Share and check your elements. • Class Share

Justify the selected solution • In groups (10 min): Select one solution for AGICSA . • Write 4 arguments in favour of the chosen solution, 2 arguments against it and 1 counterargument. • Peer Review (5 min): Read the other team’s arguments and write two things they have correctly done and one thing they can improve and how.

  20. Homework • Individually: Considering all that you have learned related to the Analysis stage of the PDLC, you will review a past students Criterion A and B. • Determine 5 things they have done correct and 3 things they can improve and how.
