CSE 3: Fluency with Information Technology Spring 2013 By: LianneLaguitan Presentation of Information with MS PowerPoint Desktop Publishing with MS Word Overview In this lab, we learned how to make webpages straight from Microsoft Word. The image shown describes my major and what my career goals are in that field. In this lab, we learned how to display data in the form of a PowerPoint The image illustrates a pie chart made on PowerPoint of supposed stock investments I made For non-Engineering majors. Information Technology (IT) fluency including: Proficiency with certain computer applications (traditional computer literacy), principles on which you can build new understanding as IT evolves, high-level reasoning and IT problem solving, and basic web programming (HTML/XHTML). Computational thinking and data analysis and data presentations. Data Analysis and visualization With MS Word Visual Programming with Alice In this lab we were eased into the world of JavaScript through the object-oriented program called Alice. In Alice we created “movies” through the use of objects, loops, and more. The image illustrates the frog lab in which multiple frogs jump into the water to get away from a hawk. In this lab, we learned how to display a set amount of data into tables and graphs. The image shown describes data about a supposed scholarship for instruments. Making Info Available to the world with HTML and Web Pages In several HTML labs, we used basic HTML coding to create webpages and display things such as images and tables. The image shown illustrates a sample webpage that utilizes HTML code to display a table, image, and various colors. Dynamic Webpage Programming with JavaScript My CSE 3 Page In this lab, we learned how to make interactive webpages using both HTML and JavaScript. This particular lab also utilized CSS.
