T’is the season to know the gift rules An Ethics Reminder for the Holidays
This holiday season, don’t accept gifts or event invitations worth more than $20 given to you because of your official position or from a prohibited source, such as a contractor or a financial agent.
However, if the gift is perishable, such as flowers or fruit, and it is not practicable to return the gift …
then, with the approval of your supervisor or the Ethics Attorney, you may toss the gift, donate it to charity, or share it with your office.
And, if you wish to give an official superior a gift, keep the value of the gift to $10 or less.
For additional information on these ethics standards, please visit the ethics page on the FMS intranet or call the Ethics Attorney at (202) 874-6827.
By the way, if you can draw, please call the Ethics Attorney... please.
