  2. This holiday season, don’t accept gifts or event invitations worth more than $20 given to you because of your official position or from a prohibited source, such as a contractor or a financial agent.

  3. However, if the gift is perishable, such as flowers or fruit, and it is not practicable to return the gift …

  4. then, with the approval of your supervisor or the Ethics Attorney, you may toss the gift, donate it to charity, or share it with your office.

  5. And, if you wish to give an official superior a gift, keep the value of the gift to $10 or less.
