  1. Student Education Association Second Member Meeting: Monday October 22nd

  2. Guest Speakers Jill Donnell, Debbie Layzell, and Amee Adkins Today’s panel discussion will be about the edTPA. This is the assessment all teacher education candidates will be using starting Fall 2013.

  3. Upcoming Conference • IEA-SP Conference • Lisle, IL • November 16th and 17th • Commuter rate is only $35 • Carpools available! • Counts as 3 social credits • Sessions include “First Year Teaching”, “Birth Order Factor”, “Parents as Partners”, “Special Education”, and many more!

  4. IEA Representative Assembly • 6 representatives are elected by all IEA Student Program Members • Ballots are sent to your primary address and should be there while ISU has Thanksgiving Break • Please vote and return them by December 12th • Students from ISU are running including Katie Meyers, Kathleen Cervera, and Brittany Archibald

Coffee with the President • Join Student Program Director Meredith Byers and President Katie Meyers for coffee and to discuss the IEA-SP! • Tuesday October 23rd • 2:30pm to 4:30pm • Einstein’s Bagels in the Bone Student Center • Look for the Dr. Seuss hat and pick up a ticket. Bring the ticket to the cash register for a drink of your choice!

  7. Social • Meatheads Fundraiser • November 13th • You must bring the emailed flyer to Meatheads • Turn in your receipt to the SEA bulletin board with your first and last name on it for 1 social credit

  8. Social Join us after tonight’s meeting to decorate Halloween cupcakes and meet fellow teacher education candidates! Counts as 1 social credit

  9. Volunteer Opportunities • Apples for Education • Monday November 12th from 8am -11am • One hour shifts • Each shift counts for one volunteer hour • Sign up on the google doc with an exec board member at the end of the meeting

Volunteer Opportunities • Trick or Treat for Change • Wednesday October 31st with the Leadership and Service Unit • Counts as one volunteer hour or one social credit • If you are doing this with another RSO that is okay just email Kathleen Cervera • Sign up with Kerstyn at the end of the meeting • Cozy Kids Drive • Donate new or homemade hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for children in need • 1 volunteer hour per item donated with a maximum of 1 item
