Where is Snowbird, III Airport Snowbird
Getting to Snowbird, I • From the US: • Direct flights from mostly everywhere (SLC is a Delta hub) • From Europe: • Direct daily flights from Paris. • Fly to US (JFK, Atlanta) and then connect to Salt Lake • From Asia: • Direct flights from Tokyo • Fly to US (SFO, LAX) and then connect
Getting to Snowbird, II • Snowbird is 29 miles from SLC (40 minutes by car/bus) • Pre-paid direct shuttle service ($64 round trip, arranged via Snowbird reservations) • Taxis (more expensive) • Rental car (rentals at the airport)
Accomodation • At Snowbird: • Cliff Lodge: $119/night + $12/night extra for internet, parking, coffee etc. • Lodge @ Snowbird (for students): $99/night + $6 extra (rooms can be shared). • Room blocks in both places, but limited (by ACM). • NOT Snowbird: • Marriott Residence Inn at the base of the mountain (10 minutes up the mountain to Snowbird) • Other options downtown (room rate + car rental might work out cheaper).
Food • Breakfast included in registration • Many restaurants/cafes in the Snowbird village. • Sandwich places, italian, mexican, steak, … • If you have transportation, MANY nice restaurants downtown (40 minutes by car) • And at least two good ones at the mountain base (10 minutes) • Bus trip to downtown for dinner Monday night ? Will consult with steering committee
