  1. Middle School Commerce Semester 1

  2. My name is Miss Scriven • Sister of Tim Scriven at Scrivo’s Honda.

  3. Seating order • You have been given a specific computer because you are responsible for reporting any: • Damage to the computers – so they can be fixed. • Graffiti on the desks. Do this at the start of class as soon as you see new graffiti so you won’t be blamed for it. • You will keep to this seating arrangement unless I say otherwise – so please don’t bother asking to shift. • Why are we doing it? Because it is easier for me.

  4. Rules • Please do not talk when I’m explaining something, thank you. • If you don’t hear the instructions, you won’t know what to do.

  5. Rules • The class is on one side of the room because I don’t want to waste your time walking around the room. • Also sometimes we may be sharing the room.

  6. Rules • When the bell goes, start packing up but remain seated until after the announcements are over. • I may still have things to say to you.

  7. Rules • You are not disabled – walk to the printer / rubbish-bin so you won’t run over some one’s footwith the chair.

  8. Rules • Throwing stuff is dangerous so don’t do it.

  9. Rules • Leave other people and their possessions alone.

  10. Rules • Bring the following equipment to every class: • Your diary • Your pencil case • Your memory stick • A display folder

  11. Your Diary • Do not pull out the page with the bell time on it. • Do not ask me “how long until the bell?” • Look in your Diary • Write when work is due. • Use your Diary as a mouse pad.

  12. What you should learn at school • To listen carefully • To follow instructions • To make an educated guess • To be organised • To learn self-control

  13. To pass this subject and get you ready for working in a job • Hand in all the work required and earn a greater than 50% mark. • Complete all parts of the required work. • If you don’t it will be handed back to you to complete in your own time. • Not hand in work late or it will incur a 10% penalty. • If it is late and incomplete, it will be handed back to be finish and still lose 10%. • After a while I will stop reminding you and you will fail.

  14. Put your name on your work • No name and I will rip the work up and put it in the bin. • So make sure you have a copy saved to your Home Directory before you hand work in.

  15. Create a folder in your Home Directory • Call it Commerce.

  16. Go to the wiki • Google kthsyr10commto find the wiki. • Copy the address to a Word document so you don’t have to look it up each time (as Favourites may not work – if they do, make it a Favourite).

  17. Copy the following from the wiki and paste it to your Commerce file, please.
