  2. (2) Which way forward with the knowledge from the course? • Do you believe that you now know more about terrorism than 99% of the US population? • Then how to keep that “current”? • ‘Foreign’ news sources • Get ‘alert’ e-mails from big sources…BBC, CNN, etc. • THINK………and question

  3. (3) Dealing with the rest of folks in society: what is your “fear factor” regarding global terrorism? • Higher • Lower • About the same after completing this course? How to help others deal with the fear factor??

  4. (4) • Do you think you are sufficiently capable of analyzing a government counter-terrorism measure so as to judge its potential effectiveness? • Best approach – queries…… • What evidence/theory guides this policy? • What are the competing ones? How and why are those inadequate? • What is the criteria for success for this policy?

(5) • Do you believe that you have sufficient knowledge and the ability to find information on your own, so that you can assess when the news media, professors, or the president are either • incorrect about their assessments of … or • lying to you about some specific aspects of or dealing with global terrorism?

  6. (6) • Do you now have the ability to formulate a ‘life’ that is sustainable; even amidst the changing dynamics of ‘the war on terror? • Family, community, larger loyalties? • Profession, job or voluntary work? • That fits your values and goals?

  7. (7) Paths toward using the knowledge & the approach • Family etc……. Find the ‘growth points’ (e.g., SB – Bullying workshops) • Profession: can you turn your job/work/ life calling into one that moves into the realm of supporting diminish/deny/defeat real terror • Can you turn those jobs and values toward the tasks of building peace in world of terror?

  8. (8) Examples: • School board member (or teacher) • Member of your religious community • PARENT!!! • Philanthropist • Writer – even if it is to your local newspaper • Military personnel • Medical or related • Or….go back to the list…
