  3. How has the Executive & Judicial Branches change the Constitution? • Executive Action “Powers” - aka Executive Orders • executive agreements w/ head of another country • different from a formal treaty • Court Decisions - interpretations of law • judicial review

  4. President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066,

  5. A statement in the Constitution granting the power to pass all laws necessary and proper for carrying out the powers given to the federal government. Article One Section 8

  6. Legislative branch & Elastic Clause… • Article II- Executive Branch- creates the office of the President & Vice President…. But the President needs many agencies like the state department & defense department. • Legislative branch passed laws creating these agencies…

  7. President's Cabinet was established by the Legislative branch… President needs the help of these agencies !
