What Makes a Memoir? • Memoirs are written from the first-person point of view. • An autobiography tells the story of a whole life, while memoir tells a story from a life, such as major events or turning points from the author's life. • Memoirs focus on one or two major events that shape the author’s life. • Memoirs include the story of the event and the consequences or effect the event had on the author’s life.
