The idea • An interesting characteristic of the post hundred years has been the development in size and fear factor of theme park and entertainment rides. • One quaintly known as roller coasters and big dippers we now have the likes of Oblivion, Air and Nemesis. • Riders hurtle through the air upside down, twist over themselves and plunge down vertical drops in their carriages.

  3. Task • Design a study to investigate whether there are age differences in how frightened people are by these type of theme park rides. In your answer you should include details of investigation design, sampling, materials and procedure and justify your design decisions. (12 marks) • Explain how you would analyse the data from this study. Justify your choice of techniques of analysis. (6marks)
