  2. The result of the elections • The winer of the elections was UCD and the president was Adolfo Suárez. • The solution of the bad economy situation and the elaboration of the new constitution are the great objectives of the Government.

  3. The democratic progress The first president after Franco’s death was Arias Navarro. Franco dies on 20th November, 1975 The new king was Juan Carlos de Borbon. He presides the Spanish Governament before the Generals Elections in1977 The elections in 1977 were the first for 41 years. After him was Adolfo Suarez.

  4. Political parties and their leaders • Adolfo Suarez: leads the Union de Centro Democratico. • Felipe Gonzalez: leads the PSOE, the second political party with more votes. • Santiago Carrillo: leads the PCE fought against Fascism in exile.
