  2. What is Kevlar ? • Kevlar is the first fiber with a extremely strong material that derives its strength from its weave, It is woven like tiny spider webs. It is a technology  that combines high strength and light weight  to help improve the performance of a variety of consumer and industrial product.

  3. Who created Kevlar? • Stephanie Kwolek and Herbert Blades created this special material in 1965 for the DuPont Company.

  4. Descriptions of Kevlar… • It also evolved over  4 decades of innovation to do everything from saving many lives, and to make safer homes and vehicles.  It originally developed as a replacement for steel in radial tires, Kevlar is now used in a wide range of applications. 

  5. These are some applications of Kevlar… • Body armor • Protection vest • Military helmets • Heat resistant gloves • Vehicle armor

  6. Body Armor • With the increasing number of threats, body armor made from Kevlar are useful for bullet proof, fire proof or metal fragments from explosion. This Body armor plays a vital role for protecting law enforcement personnel, corrections officers and the military.

  7. Protection Vest • DuPont 1st started helping protect officers with protection vests made with Kevlar. From higher-level bullets to knives, needles and explosions, protection vests made with Kevlar, it help for the protection and safety of officer.

  8. Military Helmets • Military helmets made with Kevlar meet demanding requirements for protection against a wide range of threats and bullets. This absorb 20% more kinetic energy than the Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops.

  9. Heat Resistent Gloves • For decades, heat resistant gloves made with Kevlar technology has protected soldiers’ hands from cuts, slashes, abrasions and fire. This helps by decreasing the number of injuries of soldiers.

  10. Vehicle Armor • Vehicle armor need for strong, lightweight, flame resistant vehicle armor to protect combat and tactical ground vehicle. Kevlar technology is helping the military with vehicle armor products that help mitigate a wide range of ballistic threats.
