FXAA • FXAA stands for fast approximate anti-aliasing. • Single pass pixel shader that runs in the post-processing stage of the game’s rendering pipeline. • It is faster than all other anti-aliasing.
Advantages • Less flicker because of reduction of specular aliasing and sub-pixel aliasing. • FXAA is faster, it takes 2 milliseconds to process 1920x1200.
Compatible • It will run with Nvidia and AMD GPUs. • Compatible with DirectX9.
Flexible • There are currently 3 versions of FXAA and it can be customized extensively. • With gaming companies getting more used to using FXAA, the games will only get better with quality.
