Baloghia marmorata The Baloghia is a rare, small plant with a trunk which is creamy, green and has smooth bark. Creamy flowers grow in from July to September. Floydia The floydia is named after the botanist Alexander Floyd. It is a species of tree which is very rare and is only found in the rainforests of Queensland. It is commonly known as the ball nut or possum nut. The fruit grown from the floydia is known as poisonous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floydia
Vesselowskya rubifolia The Vesselowskya rubifolia (also known as the Mountain Marara) is a small tree growing up to 8 metres tall. The bark is quite smooth and dark brown in colour. Cattleya The Cattleya is a species of orchards named by John Lindley. They are popularly known for their wide beautiful petals. The flower can grow from 5cm to 15cm or even bigger! They can grow in every single colour except for black and blue. The flower has 3 small petals and 3 bigger ones, two big ones are similar and the third is known as a lip. Cinchona The cinchona is of 1 in 28 species in its family. It is native to south America. They are large bushes or small trees. The flowers are pink, white or red. The fruit is small with lots of seeds. The bark contains medicine called alkaloids. Strangler fig The strangler fig is a fig that likes to strangle the tree it lands on as a seed. It starts off when a bird drops a seed onto a tree and then it grows on the tree as a plant. The plant will lower it’s roots down until they reach the ground. Once it reaches the ground the fig will grow upwards and around the tree to steal more sunlight. I know this from class (my reference)
