Instructor Policy Statement To put in place a HSEM Qualified InstructorPolicy of professional requirements that: • Ensures students are taught in a manner that strengthens and enhances identified role competencies needed in emergency management. • Verifies instructor qualifications through a process that supports them to the fullest extent possible. • Provides opportunities for all HSEM Qualified Instructors to grow through various educational opportunities.
Instructor Qualifications Application Process Includes: • Adhere to an Instructor specific Code of Conduct • Follow HSEM’s “Instructor Expectations” • Provide all pertinent licenses, certifications, permits • Meet or Exceed Adult Education Training Quals • Meet or Exceed General Instructor Quals • Meet or Exceed Specific Course Instructor Quals– this may include any of the following: • Three Referencesor a Letter of Recommendation from a County/City of the First Class or Tribal emergency Manager or HSEM Director
MN 3 Track Certification Program • Track I: Emergency Management Director’s Qualification Curriculum Certification – for County, City, Tribal Emergency Management Directors/Deputy Directors; • Track II: Emergency Management Certification for State Agencies and Response/Support disciplines; and, • Track III: Elected and Appointed Officials.
