Recommendations for 2003 • All sessions of the Materials Division and the Applied Mechanics Divisions should be scheduled in the same half-week. This step was approved by COE in New Orleans. • Reduced registration fees, not to exceed $400. And inclusion of at least one banquet or luncheon in the fee at the selection of the attendee. • A fixed amount share of the registration fee to be allocated to the primary division of registrant. This should be built into the registration fee and not a function of how well congress does financially. • A 50% - 75% increase in the number of sessions allocated to us in 2003, as compared with 2002. Sessions at an adjacent hotel could be acceptable under the right conditions. • The above session allocation totally separate from the Track System. • Opportunity for a limited number of plenary sessions so we can invite highly respected individuals who will attract others to the meeting.
Results to Date • One of the six recommendations (AMD and MD in the same half-week) may be implemented in 2004, not 2003 as requested. • The remaining five recommendations are under consideration by the Congress Committee.
